Celebrate the New Year 2025 in one of the most iconic ancient pre-colonial cities of Mexico, San Cristobal de las Casas. Surrounded by all the descendants of the Maya, we will celebrate in the heart of this living culture together with all the culinary and customs of the Tzotzil-Maya culture. An ensemble of atmospheres that creates a surreal movie-like feeling.

Baroque cities that tell the story of Spanish colonization, lost ruins in the jungle, active volcanoes, food that is a World Heritage Site, white sand beaches on Caribbean and much more. All of this is framed by the warmth of the most hospitable people anywhere.

1. Day: Flight to Mexico-City (ca. 14h), LH / AF/ KLM / TA
After your arrival at Mexico City Airport in the late afternoon, you will be welcomed by your Romanian-speaking tour guide. Transfer to the hotel, Welcome cocktail in the hotel lobby.

Introduction to Mexico City: The Making of Mexico: Get accompanied with the history of downtown Mexico City, from the Aztecs to today. 3. Day: Teotihuacan Ancient Pyramids- Puebla (includes 250km/3hrs. drive)
Tour and visit to Teotihuacan – The city of the Gods (Including the Pyramids of the sun and the moon). Full guided tour to the ancient city of gods.
We will visit the Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon, Pyramid of the Feathered Serpent, Quetzalpapalotl Palace, walk through the Avenue of the Dead, other smaller pyramids and the museum. As a private tour, you can visit the place you want or skip it, everything on your own pace. Time to have lunch in the restaurant you like: Snacks – short lunch around 2:00PM.
Prepare to walk around most likely under the hot sun.
Transfer from Teotihuacan to Puebla.

4. Day: Puebla and Cholula (includes 30 Km, 45 min drive)
Two historical jewels of Mexico: Old village of Cholula with the world-largest pyramid and in case you didn’t know: with a catholic church built on top of the pyramid.
Puebla Downtown (World Heritage) with the Zocalo and the Cathedral. With nearly 500 years the oldest town in Mexico, Puebla is a city full of history and famous
architectural, cultural and religious sites. Late lunch in Quinta Real, (top choice for genuine Puebla cuisine with the famous salsa called “Mole Poblano”

5. Day: Transfer to Chiapas and Canyon de Sumidero (includes 150 km/ 2 hrs. drive)
Transfer via Mexico City International Airport to Tuxtla, Chiapas
Next, we embark on an unforgettable journey through the Sumidero Canyon, a natural wonder carved out by the Grijalva River. Towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls create a dramatic backdrop as we cruise through the emerald waters. Keep an eye out for the numerous animals that call this canyon home, including crocodiles, monkeys and a variety of bird species. The sheer beauty and majesty of the Sumidero Canyon will take your breath away and remind you of the awe-inspiring power of nature.

6. Day: San Cristobal de las Casas and the descendants of the Maya
(includes 45 km/1,5 hrs drive)
San Cristobal de las Casas is a picturesque town in the highlands of Chiapas, Mexico. It is characterized by its rich cultural diversity, its colonial architecture and its close connection to the indigenous peoples of the region. The city itself is known for its colorful streets, cobbled alleyways and charming squares.
There are two remarkable indigenous villages near San Cristobal de las Casas: Zinacantán and San Juan de Chamula.
Zinacantán: This village is known for its unique textile traditions. The locals produce beautiful hand-woven fabrics and embroideries, often decorated with vibrant colors and intricate patterns. A visit to Zinacantán offers the opportunity to experience the traditional life of the Tzotzil Maya culture and learn more about their customs and traditions.
San Juan de Chamula: This village is famous for its fascinating religious mix between Catholic rites and ancient Mayan traditions. The villagers practice a unique form of Catholic faith,which incorporates elements of indigenous spirituality. The main attraction is the church of San Juan de Chamula, where unique ceremonies take place. The interior is decorated with candles and flowers, and the parishioners pray and perform sacred rituals in their traditional language.

7. Day: Mystical Mayan metropolis: Palenque in Chiapas
(includes 200 km/ 3 hrs. drive)
We are in the Chiapas region, where the wonders of nature blend harmoniously with the ancient Mayan sites combine harmoniously. Our destination is the mystical Palenque, nestled in the lush Lacandon jungle. During the exploring the ruins, which are decorated with elaborate carvings and surrounded by lush flora, you will be transported back to the
time of the Mayan kings and ceremonial rituals. The heavenly ambience of Palenque and its
hidden treasures will amaze you and leave you wanting more

8. Day: Campeche World Heritage Site (includes 250 km/ 4 hrs. drive)
Campeche, a coastal town on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, offers a wealth of sights that reflect its rich history and culture.
Campeche is less crowded. The city offers a relaxed and cozy atmosphere, ideal for travelers who want to escape the mass tourism.
We will stay in a historic hotel in the center of Campeche and enjoy the colorful evening in the light of the sunset.
